Silverhawk Native American Flute Gathering sponsored by: Pasco County Parks and Recreation Dept. and will be held at: Withlacoochee River Park. Festival/Powwow No Contest. Admission Fee: $5.00 per vehicle. MC: Phil Penne. Invited drums: Sacred Thunder. Entertainment: Non stop entertainment all weekend. Vendors, crafts, Native American style flutes, blankets, Painted Ponies, Native American food, ice cream, kettle corn, Native American leather clothing, etc), nonstop entertainment all weekend (flute players, story tellers, singers, didge players, etc.) 1800s settlement, trails thru the woods along the river, Saturday evening Friendship Fire (flute playing, drumming, singing, story telling, fellowship), American Indian Christian Circle Sunday at closing. A grassroots gathering in the country. Camping on the grounds. Motels 15 min away in Dade City. A family event, No Drugs or Alcohol allowed! Come join us for a wonderful weekend. 10th Annual 175th Anniversary Memorial Trail of Tears Walk and Social sponsored by: Vicky Garland and Family and will be held at: Hope Springs Park on Old Waynesboro Highway off of West Gaines/Highway 64. Then go to David Crockett State Park Shelter Number 1. Social event. Total Prizes: None. Admission Fee: If you come to the Social bring a Covered Dish or Dessert or Drink. Comments: This is the 175 Anniversary of the Cherokee Trail of Tears. We will walk and have a Covered Dish Social and also at 1:00 we will have a ribbon cutting inside David Crockett State Park for the new Trail of Tears Walking Trail there.
